The Guild of Mechanical Engineers has a variety of honorary gestures and objects it gives to people who have made an impact in the guild's activity.
The guild can invite someone to be an honorary member if they have a made significant positive difference for the guild or if the guild want to honor them for some other reason.
The board of the guild can decide to honor a current or former member of the guild with a golden pin, if they have gone out of their way to help the guild advance.
A different kind of honorary gesture is giving a person the right of use to an honorary pint. There is only a certain amount of pints, and to keep track of the rights of use, the person's name and the year the homage was given is engraved on the pint's lock.
The bronze pin is given to every member of the board and every official of the guild as they end their activity in the guild. It can also be given to other people if they have shown remarkable actions in favour of the guild.
A copy of the guild's songbook Wirsu with leather covers is an honorary object that can be given to people who have helped advance the song culture. The guild's Oltermanni can also have one as he leaves his position.
